The brief for ‘The Annual’ from Ministry of Sound came in the form of a years worth of Mixmag magazines filled with post-it notes. I was tasked with coming up with a solution that would encapsulate a year in the life of clubland, something that would stand out from the increasingly elaborate compilations being released by rival nightclubs. The ‘luxury diary’ format went on to become the biggest selling club compilation series of all time, regularly selling over a million copies within 6 weeks of launch.
